Broad Bean Karmazyn Seeds Average Seeds 40 Broad Bean Karmazyn Seeds Average Seeds 40

Colourful pink/rose seeds characterise this improved heritage broad bean. Compact plants produce small, upright, easy-to-pick growing pods in profusion. On our trials, visitors loved the taste of this heavy-cropping variety. Harvest when seed shape is just visible through the pod. For early crops sow recommended varieties late October-November or in January, in a warm sheltered position. Sowings for summer cropping should be made February-May. Sow in double rows 23cm (9") apart in the row and between rows and 5cm (2") deep. Pack will sow a double row 6m (20') long. Allow 90cm (3') between each pair of rows (60cm [2'] for The Sutton). HEALTH BENEFITS: Source of vitamins A, C & E. Ideal for vegetarians - a good source of protein and fibre.TOBY'S TIP - Pinch out plant tops when in full flower for better-filled pods and to avoid infestation with black fly.
