Supplied in a 17cm pot. Your Pieris plant will arrive pre-planted in a 17cm pot and packed in specially designed protective packaging to ensure it's in top condition when you receive it. All you need to do is remove it from the box, give them a good dose of water and leave to 'rest' for 1-2 days in a sheltered spot. Carefully remove from pot before planting and make sure the hole is deep and wide enough to fit the entire root ball without bending or breaking the roots. Water-in after planting. This plant is best in acid or neutral soils and look lovely in a mixed shrub borders adding varied colour throughout the year. They will grow exceptionally well in containers of ericaceous compost. Forest Fire is one of the most colourful varieties with brilliant red new growth, later pink and then cream, appearing at the same time as the sprays of lily of the valley flowers. The Royal Horticultural Society has given it their prestigious Award of Garden Merit. Prefers acid/ericaceous soil, however if you do not have acid soil naturally in your garden, Pieris are perfectly suitable for container planting in ericaeous compost. For best results, replace some of the compost every year. Fully frost hardy and provides year-round evergreen colour.
