A mouth-watering plum-like fruit which has been widely cultivated in France since the 15th Century. This is a traditional mirabelle, with small, round, stone-free fruit that can be eaten fresh from the tree when fully ripe, but are delicious in baked deserts and jams or even, more traditionally, plum brandy!
