Sowing Early sowings in trays under glass at 14°C, only lightly covering with compost. Later sowings in the growing site 1cm (2”) deep in rows 30cm (12”) apart. Planting Glasshouse seedlings should be pricked off into trays when about 15cm (6”) tall, 5cm (2”) apart. Harden off and plant in growing site 15cm (6”) apart in early April. Outdoor sowings should be thinned in two stages until spacings of 15cm (6”) between plants is achieved. Other Instructions Pull the thinnings carefully and remove from the site to avoid attracting onion fly. Thinnings can be used as salad onions.
